Major highway, rail and port infrastructure projects will see the light of day in 2020 in order to improve the attractiveness of the country and its different regions for foreign investments, underlines the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Reform. of the administration.
It is planned for 2020 to complete the motorway link with the new Nador West Med port at a cost of 4.5 billion dirhams (MMDH) as well as the construction of the Casablanca bypass highway on 31 , 5 KM, indicates the ministry in its 5th note on the regional distribution of investment 2020.
In the rail sector, work will continue on the rail connectivity projects of the ports of Nador West Med (3 MMDH) and the port of Safi (300 MDH) as well as the completion of the preparations for the program contract between the 'State and ONCF, adds the ministry.
The year 2020 will also see the construction and extension of port and maritime infrastructure as well as coastal protection works, he noted.
On the social level, several projects aimed at the continuous improvement of the population's access to basic services (roads, health, education, water, electricity, etc.), will be carried out in particular within the framework of the implementation of the Program to fight territorial and social disparities in the rural world.
The ministry notes in this regard that the budgetary envelope intended for the realization of its action plan for the year 2019 and which amounts to 6,583 million dirhams has allowed the construction of more than 5,000 km of road and rural roads, construction or rehabilitation of more than 200 health establishments and 800 educational establishments, carrying out more than 14,000 actions to supply drinking water as well as connecting more than 300 villages to the electricity network.
As part of the implementation of the new development model for the southern provinces, significant amounts have been allocated to the pursuit of the development program for the southern provinces, whose overall budget is around 80 MMDH, he, specifying that for 2019, this program concerned several projects relating in particular to healthcare, connection to the electricity network and the production of renewable energies.
