Under the code-share agreement: The American skies open to RAM
The code-share agreement signed between Royal Air Maroc and American Airlines came into force on Thursday, the national airline said.

The agreement relates to the sharing of codes on the transatlantic lines connecting Casablanca to Miami, New York, Washington and Boston as well as some Moroccan domestic destinations on the side of the flights operated by Royal Air Maroc, underlines the RAM in a press release. With regard to flights operated by American Airlines, Royal Air Maroc notes that it will place its code on the lines connecting New York-JFK airport to the main intra-American destinations as well as the Casablanca-Philadelphia flights which will be marketed by American Airlines in the summer of 2020.

This agreement establishes solid ties of cooperation between the two companies and is part of Royal Air Maroc's plan to join the Oneworld alliance of which American Airlines is a founding member, adds the same source, ensuring that clear new cooperation will soon strengthen to include all of the American destinations covered by American Airlines. Royal Air Maroc customers will therefore have a wide choice of frequencies and destinations on American soil aboard American Airlines, the largest airline in the world.

Similarly, the upcoming extension of this new code-share will allow American Airlines to place its code on the continental network of Royal Air Maroc, which will strengthen the position of the Moroccan national airline as a leader in Africa and will further allow opening of Africa to the world. On the entry into force of this partnership agreement, the president and CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Hamid Addou, affirmed that this new code-share with an internationally renowned company such as American Airlines confirms the major role of Royal Air Maroc as a key player connecting Africa to the rest of the world.

"We are very pleased with this important partnership which will allow the development of our traffic and facilitate access to the networks of the two companies on both sides", added Mr. Addou quoted by the press release, noting that thanks to this agreement code-sharing, Royal Air Maroc offers its passengers a connection to additional destinations across the United States of America as well as a better customer journey thanks to optimized connections and end-to-end check-in operations, with international assistance at the airports of the networks operated by the two companies.
