During a meeting held on December 28, 2019 with various ministers, under the presidency of the head of government, Abdelkader Amara, Minister of Equipment, revealed some figures indicating the volume of investments in the Casablanca-Settat region.
The head of government, Saâdeddine El Otmani paid a visit to the Casablanca-Settat region on Saturday December 28, at the head of a large official delegation including ministers, government officials and public institutions.
The work of this visit began with the holding of a communication meeting with the governors, elected officials, economic actors and components of civil society at regional level, who asked their questions and expressed their remarks and proposals.
In the same context, Abdelkader Amara, Minister of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, provided some figures indicating the volume of investments in this region, during his response to the various interventions:
In the road sector, investments amount to around 5 billion DH (MMDH), including what was accomplished between 2015 and 2019, the projects that are underway, and those planned between 2020 and 2022, indicates a press release from the ministry.
For the highways, the projects which will start in 2020 will cost approximately 4 MMDH for the construction of the Casablanca-Berrechid highway and the tripling of the Tit Mellil-Berrechid axis, in addition to the tripling of the regional road n ° 315 with a cost which will be around 300 million DH.
Investments relating to railway projects carried out in the region reached approximately 10 billion dirhams. An investment of 3.8 MMDH is planned to link Mohammed V Airport to the LGV.
In addition, the investments relating to the projects of the various ports of the region for the period 2014-2018 are estimated at 5.7 MMDH. The volume of investment is expected to reach around 1.6 billion dirhams, between 2019 and 2022, in addition to the launch of the widening of the main breakwater of the port of Casablanca for an amount of about 1 billion dirhams.
