Moroccan books in the collection of an American digital library


Dozens of Moroccan books are among the collections of the digital library "Arabic Collections Online" carried by the University of New York and recently unveiled.

 Arabic Collections Online is a digital library accessible, free of charge, to the public, with content in Arabic.  It provides digital access to 11,566 volumes all old, rare editions or manuscripts
 Moroccan titles are among the published collections, including in particular الحركات الاستقلالية في المغرب العربي by Allal El Fassi (1948).
 
 These are copyright-free books from NYU and partner institutions, collected over the centuries by specialists from each institution for their "academic quality and relevance to intellectual and literary research".
 Created with the support of NYU Abu Dhabi, and supported Arcadia, a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin, and Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Arab Collections Online aims to present up to 23,000 volumes from the collections of the  New York University library (NYU) and partner institutions, which contribute with books published in all fields, from their collections in Arabic.
 ACO contributing partners are New York University, Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, American University in Cairo, American University in Beirut and the National Archives of the United Arab Emirates.
