New increase in fuel prices from this Wednesday, January 1, 2020

The Moroccans will realize that refueling at the beginning of 2020 will be more expensive than at the end of 2019. Prices at the pump have indeed risen on New Year's night, driven by a rise in the price  oil on international markets.

The price of fuels sold at service stations in Morocco continues their upward trend.

The price of a liter of diesel reached 9.81 dirhams this morning in Casablanca, up 23 cents from the previous pricing structure.  The liter of unleaded petrol rose to 11.06 dirhams, an increase of 15 cents.

Note that the price of fuels varies from city to city depending on the costs of transporting them to the pump.  Added to this, the differential which hardly exceeds two cents between the different signs of service stations.

Fuels.  Capping margins and prices: an inappropriate measure, according to the Competition Council

On the international markets, the prices of brent progress slowly but surely.

The price of a barrel was, on December 27, at more than 68 dollars, while it cost, in early November, about 60 dollars.

This increase was supported by two major facts: on the one hand, the warming of economic relations between the United States and China, materialized by an agreement to come, which should boost energy demand, and, on the other hand  , pr the fact that the main oil producing countries have agreed to continue limiting their production in 2020.
