 The holy month and fasting began on Saturday, March 1st, marking the start of Ramadan in Morocco.

The administration ofmorrocan  islamic institute had announced it well in advance using astrological calculations and confirmed this date during the Night of Doubt. Ramadan lasts until Eid al-Fitr, the "Feast of Breaking the Fast," the date of which will be confirmed at the end of March.
