High demand of integration and development of new technologies within the kingdom

The next step in the industrial acceleration plan (PAI) will focus on the integration and development of new technologies within the kingdom, particularly with regard to the IoT sector. In this sense, the adoption of new technologies is a necessity more than a luxury that one should offer, something which pushes the national work force to look into the development of its skills in this direction.

The reduction of the unemployment rate as well as the development of new job opportunities are a challenge facing the kingdom. For the coming years, this will involve integrating new technologies into the traditional employment circuit. We are talking about the establishment of a perfectly automated ecosystem, even going to integrate artificial intelligence solutions adapted to different sectors of activity.

Morocco is not completely lagging behind at this level, compared to what is done on a global scale, but there is a long way to go. Indeed, the industry sector is the one that benefits most from the available technologies, whether in the automotive, aeronautical, pharmaceutical, etc. The challenge would therefore be to extend the use of these technologies to other sectors.

In addition, the establishment of an adequate ecosystem would be a plus in terms of facilitating this "transition". We are talking about an ecosystem in which the integration of new technologies, the promotion of intelligent investment, the support of innovative startups, as well as the establishment of intelligent infrastructure, in particular the case of transport , would be an important step for the socio-economic evolution of the kingdom in general.

The wind of digital change is felt in Morocco
With an age pyramid where the working age population is strongly represented, Morocco has a competent workforce that only asks to find "interesting" opportunities to demonstrate the extent of its skills. While it is true that the labor market remains limited in terms of supply in this sense, it should not be denied that things are changing, even if it is done in small steps.

According to data from the auditing firm PwC Maroc, 62% of Moroccan workers are optimistic about the potential of new technologies for their work. This observation was made on a representative sample of 1,204 people in employment, 35% of whom work full time. The urban environment remains, of course, the one with the most jobs, with a share of 86% compared to 11% in the rural environment. This situation reflects the paradox of the evolution of the national economy, insofar as "important" jobs are created in cities, while the rural environment remains mainly limited to agriculture.

In this sense, the government aspires to change this situation with the provisions of the 2020 finance bill (PLF), which places great emphasis on the development of the Social, in particular with regard to the reduction of socio-economic disparities. The objective is to bring a real balance with regard to the development of the rural world, by trying to "bring it closer" to the urban environment. A challenge that seems very "difficult", but not insurmountable.

Thus, the cabinet indicates that 77% of Moroccan workers are confident that new technologies will bring new opportunities rather than risks, 62% expect a positive impact on a daily basis. In this surge in the positive vision that Moroccans have of the impact of new technologies on their work, only 16% of those polled indicate that they expect a deterioration in job prospects in the future.

Moroccan workers confident in the potential of new technologies
The technological revolution has its weight within the kingdom, judging by the various startups and other companies operating in this field. But not only that, since we are investing heavily in projects where technology is king, especially in renewable energies for example.

That said, without willpower, nothing is possible. In this sense, it should be noted that 91% of respondents indicate that they are open to new technologies, 58% are trained for their use by developing their skills. However, only 27% of respondents say that their employers allow them to take advantage of opportunities to improve their skills at this level, which shows a certain reluctance to adopt the digital shift.

In addition, the fairer sex is much more confident about the potential of new technologies to improve their work. In fact, 79% of women strongly believe in the opportunities offered by work automation in the workplace.

The moroccan Benson shoes brand history

Culture, luxury and traditions: once upon a time ... the Benson Shoes, the Moroccan shoes that hit the streets abroad Germany, France, Belgium, Ivory Coast, Congo ... How did the Moroccan Benson Shoes conquer the world? The history of Benson Shoes is not trivial and serves as a homegrown success story.  The history of this luxury shoe begins in 1963, when Abdelaziz Benamour entered the footwear trade in Casablanca with his company Les Etablissements Idéal, first manufacturing hand-sewn boots for the army. At the end of the 1980s, Mohamed Benamour, the founder's son, joined the father's business and diversified the company's products while training craftsmen in new, more modern manufacturing processes.  After military and safety shoes, it is time to take a new step with the manufacture of luxury shoes, inspired by English models.
