Small taxis: An "absurd" call from certain Casablanca drivers

The "oddities" of small Casablanca taxis are far from over. The last episode in title concerns a call on social networks to boycott bank loans and the purchase of new vehicles by individuals. As justification, a loss of earnings.

What some taximen of Casablanca lack in civics, they gain in "creativity". This creativity is "wacky", to the extent that several groups of Casablanca taxpayers on Facebook call on citizens to boycott bank loans, deeming them "contrary to religion", but above all the purchase of new vehicles, in general, this year-end promotion period.

Indeed, we have seen that some taximens justify this call by a significant shortfall, for them, indicating that a vehicle purchased is a customer lost for them. Some said, "We have a lot of charges. What we have to pay to the owners of amenities, the rising fuel price, the rent, the education of our children, unprofitable journeys ... ", so many complaints, but what do we have in return?

Professionals in the sector little concerned
Contacted by Hespress FR, Abdelmajid Malhin, secretary general of the National Taxis Union (UNT), told us that these calls, although they are true, are isolated cases "which do not represent anyone except themselves" .

"This call is completely absurd and does not have to be. These are just empty words, which some so-called taxi drivers share in order to harm the sector. On the contrary, we (UNT), as a union, encourage people to buy new vehicles and take out loans to support themselves. We, as taxi drivers, use bank credit to acquire real estate, otherwise we cannot in any case do so. These newcomers just aspire to sow discord in the sector and take advantage of the lack of control on social platforms to say everything and anything, "said Malhin.

This call would therefore only be nonsense that does not stand up, and that would simply seek to further tarnish the reputation of an already bad sector. Indeed, the complaints against certain drivers of Casablanca taxis can be counted on the shovel, and relate in particular to uncivil gestures, in addition to the refusal to take customers, unless the drivers are interested in the journey.

It should be noted that current legislation prohibits taximen from imposing any route on customers, and may in this sense have their trust license withdrawn for a period of three months. In addition, it is currently expected that the practice of soliciting will now be prohibited, unless the client agrees. However, drivers have the right to refuse to take intoxicated customers.

In addition, it should be noted that given the dilapidated state of certain vehicles in circulation, the Ministries of the Interior and the Economy and Finance and the Reform of the Administration (MEFRA), decided to extend the duration of the renovation of the Casablanca taxi fleet, until December 31, 2021. But not everyone is interested in this initiative, which is however compulsory, since several drivers in the economic capital indicate that the new cars are not very solid, and are expensive in terms of maintenance.

The moroccan Benson shoes brand history

Culture, luxury and traditions: once upon a time ... the Benson Shoes, the Moroccan shoes that hit the streets abroad Germany, France, Belgium, Ivory Coast, Congo ... How did the Moroccan Benson Shoes conquer the world? The history of Benson Shoes is not trivial and serves as a homegrown success story.  The history of this luxury shoe begins in 1963, when Abdelaziz Benamour entered the footwear trade in Casablanca with his company Les Etablissements Idéal, first manufacturing hand-sewn boots for the army.
