 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad makes crisis cells available to Moroccans in Iraq and Syria.

 Iraq remains in the eye of the storm

 If Iran and the United States seem to want to take the de-escalation path, Iraq, long ravaged by wars and divisions, remains in the eye of the cyclone caused by the latest raids and reprisals.
 Iraq entered a bloody war against Iran in 1980 and has never really emerged from violence since.
 After the assassination in Baghdad of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, Tehran's envoy to Iraq, and Abu Mehdi Al-Mouhandis, head of the pro-Iran forces in the country by Washington, Iran retaliated by firing 22 missiles at the American forces  stationed at Iraqi bases.

 Renewed violence in Syria

 In addition, the conflict in Syria, started in March 2011 by the suppression of pro-democracy protests by Damascus, has killed more than 380,000 people, including more than 115,000 civilians, and millions of displaced and refugees.
 2019 was the least deadly year since the start of the war, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH), which reported the death of 11,215 people in the past twelve months.
 Despite a truce announced in August, the Idleb region has experienced renewed violence for several weeks, with bombings of the power of Bashar Al-Assad and his Russian ally, but also fighting between government forces against jihadists and rebels  .
